Who are we?

Howdy! We’re Tay and Lark, longtime members of the furry community. We created Collie Clippings as the result of noticing a distinct lack of information about fur types, colors, and textures being readily available. Consistent accessibility to detailed information about faux fur can be an invaluable resource, especially to first-time and novice makers. We ultimately want to make one of the hardest parts of fursuit making (fur decision paralysis!) significantly more streamlined to anyone who needs it.With 10 years of collective experience in fursuit making, and an enormous library of fur swatches sourced from around the globe in our collection, we are confident we can help you find the most appropriate and color-accurate furs for your project. OUR GOAL

Our fur color-swatching service aims to provide you with a hand selected assortment of furs that most accurately match the colors of your character. Therefore, we will provide you with our primary recommendation of furs that most closely align with your provided reference sheet, as well as some alternatives and substitutions to account for potential fur unavailability.

PROCESS

To submit a commission request, you will need a clear, unshaded reference sheet with a color palette (bar/bubble/etc). Also, the first to use code: newwebsite2025 will get 20% off their order! If you have any special requests (specific fur lengths, supplier origin, etc) you will describe these in the checkout form as well. Additionally, you must provide us with a valid email address in the checkout form so that we may send you your completed product.

RIGHTS OF USE

While our service is primarily used for fursuit commissioners or makers, we don't place any restrictions on the distribution of the written summary or photos; In fact, we encourage you to share!

AVAILABILITY

While we have a very large library of furs to choose from, we are limited by what is currently available and in production. We commit to keeping our collection up to date by removing discontinued items, however, there is an always a possibility of sudden dye lot changes, supplier discontinuations, or supply shortages.

TURNAROUND TIMES

Average turnaround time is within 10 days, but can take up to 20 days maximum. If your commission has not been fulfilled by the 21st day after order, you are eligible to request a full refund at that time. Refunds are not available for any other reason or after the service has been fulfiflled.

QUEUE

By placing an order, you agree to have your project (character's name and reference sheet) be publicly displayed on a Trello board that customers may use to track the progress of their orders. If you do not want your character's name and reference sheet to be included on our Trello for absolutely any reason, please request so in your checkout form and your order ID will be used tp represent your order on the Trello board instead.
